Why did you choose Chicago?
Being a foodie, I always wanted to try out different food cultures.
I thought their world renowned hotdogs & pizza would be worth a try! I have been primarily travelling around Asia, thought it’ll be nice to go for something new. This was pre-covid, so there was quite a bit of things we manage to try out.
There is so much to do that you can experience a wide range of attractions in a short period of time, given how compacted it is attraction wise.
How was the trip?
The trip went amazing! My fiance and I were able to see many of the attractions that we wanted to and get a real feel for the city. We did most of the things that we had been wanting to do for a while, which made the trip a huge success.
That includes the food, museum & all the other touristy stuff we were up for!
Any recommendations for first-timers?
If you are a first-timer, I would recommend becoming familiar with the transportation options in Chicago. Knowing about the options you have for getting around will make your trip much more enjoyable knowing that you have the time to see everything that you want to see, without compromising on experience.
Any must-try activities or experiences to recommend?
I would say that the must-try activity in Chicago is a Lake Michigan cruise. We did the fireworks cruise and it wasn an amazing experience that I won’t soon forget. However, there is plenty more to do if you don’t want to try the cruise. You can go see a game, check out the lakefront, or go to Chinatown.
Any precautions that one should take?
You should always create an agenda when you go to Chicago or at least know where the attractions are that you want to hit. With this knowledge in hand, you can make sure that you are safe and have a plan.
If you were to visit the location again, what would you do or try differently this time?
If we were to visit again, we would take a longer trip! There’s so much to see and do in the city and we would like to have more time to do even more.
